The first of December we took a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with Jordan's family. This included his parents, his older brother and his wife and 2 kids, and his younger brother. Normally, we would have gone to Utah for Christmas this year, so this trip replaced our normal holiday travels. It turned out great as we got to spend a full week with the whole family together and then be at home for Christmas...a first for us since we have been married. We stayed at an all inclusive resort where everything was included. This was great with the kids because they could grab food and drinks anytime they wanted. With all the swimming they were doing they were extra hungry. Colby ate 5 hot dogs one day for lunch! The soft serve ice cream and the swim up bar were also popular with the kids. Jordan and I became addicted to the Miami Vice (half pina colada and half strawberry daiquiri)...alcohol free of course!
For the most part we hung around the resort and split our time between the pool and beach. Our days consisted of getting up, putting on our swimsuits, going to breakfast, then straight to the pool and beach. We would stay there until it was time to get cleaned up for dinner. We would all go to dinner together and then straight to bed. We went into the city one day to do a little shopping and swim with the dolphins. The dolphins were really cool and we got a lot of interaction time with them. Unfortunately, Colby was exhausted and didn't really cooperate. About half way through we finally got him to touch one and he would cheer them on when they jumped and did their tricks. We left the kids with Grammy and Grandpa one afternoon while Jordan and I went para sailing. Neither of us had done it before and it was a little less thrilling than we imagined, but still a really cool experience. The guys went on a fishing trip one morning and golfing one afternoon. Carter needed his 2 naps a day at 10:00 and 2:00 and Grammy was a great sport to go sit in the room with him while he slept. It was a lot of fun to watch the kids play together since they rarely see each other. Colby, Boston, and Berkley were little fish and pretty much never got out of the water. With the help of water wings, Colby was self sufficient and could swim by himself. For a vacation with kids and a large group, it was really relaxing and a lot of fun. We had perfect weather and you can never beat the beach in December!
