Hello everyone! Here's what's happening in my world now that I'm two...
First of all, back in November I decided I was done sleeping in my crib and started climbing out of it when I didn't want to be in there any more. Mom had no choice but to move me into Colby's room where I took my spot on the bottom bunk. Dad had wanted me to start sleeping there for a while, but Mom wasn't ready for me to have my freedom yet. At first, I had to be put to bed first because if Colby was there I stayed up trying to play with him and convincing him to open the door for me so I could go find Mom and Dad. That only lasted about a week before I started demanding that Colby go to bed at the same time as me so I wasn't scared. So, that's how we do it now. We both go to bed at 7:30 pm....or at least that's what Mom and Dad think! We play for a little while before actually going to sleep. We also come out of our room a lot asking to be tucked in again or for a drink of water. Sometimes, we can't even think of anything we need (because Mom and Dad try to thoroughly cover all bases before putting us to bed) so we just say , "we have a question". I also very recently learned how to open the door, so I truly have all the freedom I need. Occasionally, I escape from my room and sleep in the hallway...just because I can!

Colby is still my very best friend. We like to play "bad guys" and chase each other around the house. Sometimes he is mean to me and sometimes I am mean to him. He hides all the good toys up in his bed on the top bunk and refuses to let me come up there. Every now and then he lets me play with his toys and even teaches me how they work. If anyone picks on me he says, "be nice to my baby sister"! I don't know what that's about. I'm clearly all BOY. My other friends are Mary, who comes over to play at least once a week, and Jake, who we babysit 2 days a week. Colby and I LOVE it when Jake comes to play. We run and play all day until I am so tired I just fall asleep on the couch. Jake also has a baby brother named Caleb. I love helping with Caleb. Colby and I fight over who gets to feed him his bottle and when he cries I always find him a toy and try to make him happy.
Mom is slowly giving up on trying to get me to take naps. Since I can get out of my room, there isn't a whole lot she can do to make me take one. I usually take 1-2 naps per week. I can go a few days without one, but then I just get to tired and have to refuel.
It's getting warmer outside and I love to ride bikes in the driveway. Every time we go in the garage to get in the car and every time we come home I grab the bike and beg Mom to let me play for "2 minutes". Usually I win because you should see the fit I can throw when I don't get my way! It's impressive if I do say so myself.
And speaking of things that make Mom mad...when we are getting in the car I bypass my car seat and run to the back. Then, Mom comes to the back of the car to get me and I run to the front! You should see her face, especially when we are in a hurry! "CARTER, we are not doing this today," she yells at me. "GET IN YOUR SEAT". She had two options, she can come in after me and wrestle me into the car seat or just stand at the door and wait for me to get into my seat so she can buckle me in. The first option is much more fun for me, but Mom has figured out that I enjoy making her mad, so she usually just stands there. I get bored pretty quick then announce, "I'm ready" and get into my seat.
These aren't the only things I do to keep my parents on their toes. A few months ago I was sick and had a fever. Mom took my temperature then gave me some chewable Tylenol, my favorite. It's the best part of being sick. Then, she took Colby's temperature and he was sick too so she gave him some Tylenol. I asked for more, but Mom said no. I even threw a fit but it still didn't work. She put the bottle on the counter and walked into the other room to make a phone call. When she came back I had already swiped the bottle off the counter, magically opened the child proof lid, and ate several of them. Mom had just purchased the bottle the day before so she knew exactly how many I had. I ate 4 plus the 2 that she gave me. She called poison control and they said I would be just fine and there was nothing that we needed to do. The medicines have now been moved to a new place in the house that I have yet to find.
I guess I've decided that nursery is ok. I don't cry anymore when I get dropped off. I like telling Mom and Colby about all the things I did in MY CLASS just like Colby tells us about HIS class. Having my own class makes me feel like a big kid. Plus, I get snacks and Colby doesn't!
My favorite TV shows are Chuggington, Cailou, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My favorite movie is Toy Story 3. I love the beginning and repeat the lines while I'm watching it. I'm not near as much of a Mommy's boy as I used to be. I love my Daddy too and often request him over Mom. When I hear the garage open in the afternoons I yell, "My Daddy" and greet him at the door.
Mostly, I just want to be a big kid. I refuse to sit in a booster seat at the table because I don't think I need one. I sit with the big kids on the bleachers at Strollerfit instead of sitting in the stroller (sometimes Mom wonders why she goes to Strollerfit when she is pushing an empty stroller around). I'm even starting to use the potty, but I must do it the big kid way and stand up to go potty. The problem is that I'm not tall enough. My solution, go in the shower in Mom and Dad's bathroom. I still wear diapers, but I'm ready when Mom decides that she is. She's really dragging her feet on the potty training thing. Doesn't she know how expensive diapers are? Jeez, you'd think she would be more motivated!
