Mason 3 Months

Our little Mason, At three months old the newness of you in our house has worn off, but you are still the center of attention. You've adjusted into your daily routine around here and are typically an easy going, happy little guy. The biggest news is that you are smiling ALL the time, and occasionally someone can get you to giggle. You especially love Carter and he can always get you to smile and "talk". He is your entertainment during the day while Colby is at school and Dad is at work. After you wake up in the morning and eat breakfast, you spend a good amount of time playing with your activity gym. Its a little mat that has bars over the top of you with hanging toys. You love to swat at them and grab them. When Mom goes to put you under there, you get a little smile on your face because you are so happy to play in your favorite spot. You don't spend near as much time in your bouncer seat anymore, but now that you are bigger Mom put the toys on it and you will play in there for short periods. You also seem to enjoy the swing more than you used to. In fact, you spend many nights in your swing when you won't go to sleep in your crib. At about 2 and a half months you slept through the night for the first time. You don't do it every night, but have done it at least a few times a weeks ever since. At just over 3 months you slept your first 13 hour night, sleeping from 9 pm to 10:15 am. Mom and Carter even tried to wake you up at about 9 am, but you did not want to get out of bed. You most definitely inherited this sleeping gene from me. Most days you are in bed until 9 or 10 in the morning (getting up at night or early morning to eat and then go back to sleep). Mom absolutely LOVES this schedule you are on! The only bad thing is that for some reason it is really hard to get you to go to sleep at bed time. You don't have this problem very often during the day for naps, but at night you really fight it. Mom often spends an hour getting you to go to sleep. The binky has been a battle with you from day one. You just don't like it that much. At about 6 weeks old you started taking it more, but it still isn't your favorite thing. You really need it to get to sleep though. In the last few weeks you have found your thumb. Mom has found you sucking on your thumb several times lately while you sleep. When you are awake you are constantly chewing on your fingers and drooling like crazy. We must also talk about your hair. When you were born you had a lot of hair but it was rubbed out in front and you had an old man receding hair line that got worse during that first month. By two months everything had evened out and your doctor even commented that you had perfect hair. That didn't last long though. Soon your back and side hair started to fall/get rubbed out again leaving you with odd hair lines and bald spots. It is just now starting to grow back in and we think it will all even out by the time you are four months old. Your brothers still adore you and can't wait to teach you everything they know. When they wake up in the morning the first thing they do is go to your room to see if you are up yet. This morning I found them in your room, gathered around your swing, talking to you and entertaining you until I came to get you. Since you didn't have a doctor appointment this month I don't know how much you weigh, but I officially had to put away your 0-3 and 3 months clothes and you are now wearing your 3-6 and 6 month wardrobe.

As I was taking pictures of you on your tummy you did this for the first time. You haven't done it again since, but I think you'll be rolling very soon. I was glad I caught it on camera.
