Carter Turns 4 Months

Carter turned 4 months yesterday. I have declared that his eyes are officially brown and although he has lost the majority of his hair, what he does have is dark. He is getting close to being able to roll over and scoots himself around when I lay him on the floor. He is never in the same place I left him. He also arches his back to try to get out of his swing, high chair, or bouncer seat and has come pretty close a few times. His new favorite places are his exersaucer and doorway jumper. He enjoys being upright and still hates to bend. Getting him to sit down is almost impossible. He definintly won't be flexible. Unfortunantly for me, he is a total Mama's boy and would prefer that I carry him around all day and hold him while he sleeps. Of course it is impossible for me to do that, so I hear about it when he is being ignored. When I do give him his attention he rewards me with tons of smiles, coos, and giggles. He is a very happy baby when he is getting his way....aren't we all! I've recruited Colby to try to help entertain him and sometimes it helps. His hands are his favorite toys. He is constantly chewing on them and trying to get his whole fist in his mouth without gagging. He is now able to pick up toys and get them to his mouth as well. Does he sleep at night? Nope! Last night was a good night. He only got up twice, but typically it is between 5-10 times (nope, I'm not exagerating). He wakes up and can't get back to sleep without me going in and giving him his binky. I'm praying he outgrows this stage quickly. At his 4 month check up he weighed in at 17 pounds 6 ounces and is in the 88% percentile for weight and 91% for height. That makes him just slightly smaller than Colby was at this age.
