Date Night

We occasionally trade babysitting with another couple for date nights. It was our turn to go on a date, and instead of the typical dinner or movie, we decided to change our date night to the morning/afternoon and go horseback riding in Fort Harrison State Park. We went on the 2.5 mile trail ride which took about 45 minutes. We went up and down hills and through streams and our guide was even cool enough to let us trot portions of it to make it slightly more exciting. This was Jordan's first time on a horse since he was 6. He got the biggest horse there was, named Tiny! My horse was named Lee. After the ride we went out to lunch and made a quick trip to the grocery store before picking up the kids. We felt like we got so much time and so much accomplished even though we were only gone three hours. We may be trying the daytime date again!

Notice the guide in the sleeveless coyboy shirt. He was exactly what you would expect a guide to be in a place like this! The only unenjoyable part of the ride is that he smoked for most of it and being stuck right behind him I was getting attacked by second hand smoke.
