First Day of School

Colby began his official school career on August 15th as a full-day kindergartner. Now that we are 6 weeks into the school year he has adjusted to the all day, every day schedule and is mostly enjoying it. A few weeks into school year I asked him if kindgergarten was easy or hard. He replied hard. When I asked him what parts were hard he said he doesn't like sitting criss cross applesauce (indian style) during circle time! If that is the hardest part I think he will be OK. He enjoys riding the bus the most and occasionally we walk to school in the mornings. I started voluntering in his classroom on Tuesday mornings. It is good to see what actually goes on in his class. Getting him to tell you anything is like pulling teeth!

Carter went to preschool for the first time on September 4th. He had watched Colby go to school for 2 years and was sooo ready for his turn. He has the same teachers that Colby had and pretty much already knew the routine. When I dropped him off at his classroom door the first day there were a few kids already there saying goodbye to their parents and hello to the teacher. Carter pushed past them all, said hi to his teacher, and ran inside without looking back. He has loved every day and loves to tell me what he did and sing me the songs he learned.
