Trip to Denver

The kids and I spent February 26 - March 7 in Denver visiting with my family. My Dad is working on the East Coast right now, so he flew to the Indianapolis airport on his way home for the weekend to help me with the kids. The help was definintly needed since Carter is at the worst flying age. When I flew alone with them a year ago I swore I would never do it alone again. This trip reminded me why. Maybe in another year!

The reason for the trip was for my Mom's 50th birthday, which was February 28th. A few days before her birthday I decided to throw her a party. Liz and Jon flew in to surprise her and we invited other friends and family over. Despite my last minute planning, it all came together really well. I'll post some pictures if I can get some from my parents.

I enjoyed being in walking distance to Target and the mall that is across the street from my parents neighborhood. We walked over there twice...just because we could. When we came out of Target Colby looked at the parking lot and said, "where's our car"? I have a new dream of living that close to a mall, movie theater, restaurants, and Target. Our morning walks would be so much more exiting! We also enjoyed a day at the Downtown Aquarium where Colby became obsessed with finding all the characters from Finding Nemo. It took us a while, but we saw Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Gill, Mr Ray, Crush, and Bruce. On our last day there we left the kids with Grandpa and my Mom and I spent the day shopping. We are glad to be back home and I'm enjoying that Carter hasn't fully changed back to eastern time and has been sleeping until 9 am. Colby was overly excited to see Chloe again and kept saying how big she was after spending a week with my parents little dogs.

So fun Jen! By the way I'm totally going to try your smoothie recipe, it sounds like a great way to get all the good stuff at once!
