Colby's 5th Birthday

Colby's birthday was really a three part event this year, mostly due to his birthday falling on a Sunday. It started a few days before his birthday when he got to bring treats to his preschool class. I made monster cake pops and apple cake pops. The apples we did because it was "A" and "Apple" week at school.

Next up was his actual birthday on Sunday. We opened his presents from family and had a traditional birthday cake.

These boys ADORE thier father!

This Mario game became an OBSESSION. Colby and Jordan beat the entire game (Colby watching Jordan) within a few weeks. In the months since his birthday, Colby has become quite the good Mario player.

Some friends invited us boating during the summer and ever since Colby has been telling us he's saving big money to buy a boat. I thought this present from my parents was pretty clever!

The Friday after the birthday was Colby's official birthday party. For the party we went to a movie in the park put on by our town. Weekly movies in the park new thing the town tried out this ysummer/fall and our boys loved it, so we decided to have Colby's party there. Before the party started the kids had a blast running and rolling on the hill.

We had pizza for dinner before the movie.

Then it was time for cake pops! These were perfect for the park since no plates or forks are needed. The movie was Monster's Inc, so the cake pops are Mike and Sully.

After cake we opened presents then everyone got ready to watch the movie. We passed out popcorn  to eat during the movie, and glow sticks to wear.
