Christmas 2013

We were lucky once again this Christmas that the boys slept in. We told them they couldn't get out of bed until it was light outside, which would be about 8 am. I didn't actually expect them to stay in bed that long, but it was 8:45 am before they came to get us.

They were super excited about every present, especially Carter, who would yell, "This is just what I wanted!" when he opened each one. There always seems to be one exception though. Colby got Carter a Leap Pad game (Pixar Pals) that Carter didn't ask for and Carter was mad because he didn't want it.  Colby was disappointed Carter didn't like his gift, but we exchanged it and everyone was happy again.

These presents were from Mommy and Daddy for both boys.

Carter with all his loot. He really wanted a remote control monster truck and Santa delivered!

Colby with all his loot. He really wanted Skylanders Swap force for the Wii. Santa brought it to him. Unfortunately, when we went to play it Christmas morning the Wii wouldn't work. It had worked the day before, but all the sudden wouldn't do anything. The day after Christmas Jordan called around and found some random guy to fix it. He had to wait an extra day to play his new game, but he was a good sport about it.

Little Mason slept through his first Christmas morning and missed the main excitement. He didn't get up until 10:30 am! He woke up just as we finished opening the presents, so it was then prefect timing to open his and get some pictures and video of his first Christmas. Colby and Carter helped him open his. His first present from Santa was a Bumbo seat. It was perfect for him to then sit in and open/play with the rest of his toys.

Santa brought Mason a Bumbo seat and the elephant toy. Mom and Dad got him the piggy bank. Colby and Carter for him the bath boat. Grandmas and Grandpas got him his other toys and clothes. His stocking was filled with rice cereal, baby food, puffs, and a ball. He's been enjoying the rice cereal, but is still waiting to get to try the others.

Sporting one of his new outfits. This is the Mason "look". Always with fingers/hand in his mouth.

We spent the rest of the day getting toys out of boxes, putting batteries on toys, and assembling. It literally took us all day on Christmas into the next day. For dinner we tried something new. I made Beef Wellington with twice baked potatoes. It was a lot of work, but actually turned out pretty good.
